Read the math number story. Have your child place small “grasshoppers” (paper clips, clothespins, or twigs) on the log she drew to show what is happening in the story. Have your child retell the story and then tell how many grasshoppers are on the log at the end. Tell another story using a different number of grasshoppers who hop off the log.
