- Copy each dot arrangement using pennies on a napkin.
- Show your child the penny arrangement for five seconds, then cover it up with your hand.
- Have your child use pennies to copy the arrangement on a different napkin.
- For each arrangement, ask: How many pennies did you see? How do you remember seeing them in your head? (For example, two on top and one on the bottom.)
